Friskney does well in football tournament
Sunday - PRIMARY Schools from the Skegness, Boston, Alford, Spilsby and Louth areas were well represented at a football tournament held at Friskney on Saturday.
Hundreds of youngsters took part in the event, which was organised by Peter Holland and his willing band of helpers.
Winners of the girls section were Tower Road, Boston, who beat Seathorne 2-1 in the final.
Burgh le Marsh Primary School won the small schools section, beating North Cockerington by the odd goal in three in the final.
Tower Road boys completed a memorable double when they powered home to beat Spilsby 5-1 in the large schools final.
Trophies for the players of the final went to:
Girls, Chloe Thorpe (Seathorne); Small Schools, Matthew Charles (Burgh); and Large Schools, Kyle Fravigar (Tower Road).
The trophies were presented by Yvonne Shaw, head teacher at Friskney Primary School.
