Ashton wins president's day contest at Woodthorpe Hall Golf Club

Friday - Alford golf star Ashton Turner is celebrating after scooping a president's day prize and sponsorship donation at Woodthorpe Hall Golf Club.

Ashton, 13, of Christopher Road, was the winner of the lowest gross prize (score for the round without handicap) after scoring a round of 73 during president's day.

He is pictured receiving a crystal whisky tumbler from club president Howard Castell.

Ashton also received a £250 donation from the club's committee towards equipment costs he pays through the year. Photo supplied.
