Wednesday - ALFORD Bowling Club's Saturday drive was well supported again, with keen competition for the prizes.



Shirley Riggall managed a very good 35pts, with husband Ralph Riggall close behind with 34pts.


There was a tie for third place, with 31pts, but Andy Brace won the cut.


Mary Barker was disappointed with her score of 17, but was pleased with her prize.


During the week, all league teams were busy. In the Skegness evening league, Alford played Skegness Town at home and scored six of the eight points available.


In East Lincs division one, Alford were at home to Horncastle, with a score of 6-4.


In East Lincs division three, Alford Tollbar split the points 3-3 against Louth BC.


Alford Pinfold were away to Suncastle Seacroft and came home with all six points.


In the Louth Wolds league, Alford were at home to Wragby and were pleased to win 6-2.


In the Lindsey Marsh league, the men played Skegness Southshore at home, but lost 6-2.


The Alfordians came up against Sutton Ladies, who beat them 8-0.


In the EBA, Alford played at home against BCC, who proved worthy winners with a score of 8-2.


In the Skegness afternoon league, Alford Windmill played away at Southshore and came home with all eight points, but Alford Manor, who were at home to Wainfleet, could only manage 6-2.
