A STALWART soccer volunteer was rewarded with a certificate to mark his 20 years of service.
Allan Gray - Skegness Town FC's secretary, treasurer, groundsman and joint reserves manager - was a runner-up in the Unsung Heroes category of the Lincolnshire Sports Partnership Awards.
Club chairman Nigel West said: "If it wasn't for Allan Gray it would be difficult to see how there would be a Skegness Town.
"He does a lot of the background work, and a lot of people out there would be surprised at the number of hours he puts in."
He described Mr Gray as 'Mr Skegness Town', adding: "We're very grateful for all the work he does, and it's good that he's been recognised in this way."

For a full round-up of local sport see the Skegness Standard on Wednesday, November 2.
