A man accused of assault after an alleged incident on the day-time TV show Trisha, has pleaded not guilty to a charge of common assault.
A warrant had been issued for Ian Wallace's arrest after he failed to attend his court hearing at Skegness Magistrates Court on Friday, June 12.

Wallace, 24, of no fixed address, surrendered himself to the court and pleaded not guilty. The offence is alleged to have occurred on February 12 at the Trisha show's studios in Maidstone, Kent.

Wallace also pleaded not guilty to failing to surrender to the custody of Skegness Magistrates Court on June 12, without reasonable excuse, and failing to surrender to bail as soon as reasonably practicable.

Magistrates adjourned the matters towards trial on July 30.

Ruth Harrop, representing Wallace, said the case had attracted constant media attention and the stress was affecting her client's health.

"He has instructed me not to make a bail application."

A remand in custody would be for the benefit of his health and welfare, she told the court.

He would find it easier to be 'incommunicado', she said.

Wallace was remanded in custody to appear at a video link hearing on June 23.
