EDITOR - On Wednesday, May 17, our recycling bin was emptied. So was our green waste bin.
This was no suprise as this was the due date for it to happen. The surprise came when they were both emptied into the same refuse truck.
So where was it all taken? To the green waste/composting where people would pick out the recycling? Or to the landfill because it was a mixed load?
If it all goes to landfill, why, oh why, do we have lots of bins?
Why are bins not emptied if the wrong thing is in the wrong bin?
Why are people threatened with fines for putting things in the wrong bin?
Why are we being told we may have to pay for our green waste to be collected unless we opt out?
