Have your say

In 1947, as representative of the Skegness youth as chairman of the youth council, I was asked to attend a meeting at the council chambers to discuss the use of the memorial playing fields in Wainfleet Road, Skegness.

A representative of Skegness Football Club, had suggested it be used by the club.

I told him my understanding was that the playing field was for the youth of the town and he dropped the issue that it would be used for Skegness Football Club.

He said it would be used solely for the youth of Skegness.

This is how I understand
it has been used ever
since.

Now, the youth of Skegness could be losing the facility that was handed to
them.
