EDITOR - I write regarding the article in the Standard last week which concerned the competition for the design of a new name sign to welcome visitors to Chapel St Leonards.
I think instead of wasting money on a sign, they would be better off lobbying the Highways Department and local council to get a white road line put down from the A52 to Kings Oak Park.
This would benefit our visitors and locals. They would then not have to spend time on the grass verge or in the potholes everytime they met a bus, lorry, van or even the odd car not knowing which bit of the road to drive on.
Oh, and by the way, there’s nothing wrong with the Chapel sign we already have.
