A conscientious group of young volunteers will be clearing Skegness beach of litter on Thursday, July 25.
The group, taking part in the National Citizen Service government scheme, which is designed to help young people aged 15-17 to mix socially with other people will also raise funds for charity, in this dual purpose event.
The young school leavers will raise funds on the day with collection buckets for their chosen charity, Framework, a charity set-up to help the homeless.
The volunteers will meet at approximately 10 O’clock at the lifeboat station and may join forces with other members of the public and other volunteer beach maintenance teams set up in the town on the day as they embark on their journey, cleaning central beach along the foreshore, towards the pier, ending at chapel point.
Nine young people from the scheme will take part with their task to work as a team to deliver a community project and fund raise for a charity of choice.
The group will also don fancy dress for the occasion.
Anyone wishing to help the team on the day can call Louisa Conway, group organiser on 07791311792.
