Intrepid young reporters from John Spendluffe Technology College have helped retain their school a prestigious newspaper award.

The college-run Spendluffe Standard was again awarded ‘Newspaper of the Year’ in the Lincoln University School of Journalism Virtual Awards held recently.

A spokesperson for the school said the newspaper, compiled by express stream class students, had ‘impressed’ the judges and welcomed the ‘fantastic’ award.

Special praise was lauded upon student Kira Robers who came runner-up in the Young Journalist of the Year category.

“We hope to continue the project for many years to come,” the spokesperson added.
