Win a Lincolnshire food and beer hamper

PICK up a copy of this week’s Standard (out on Wednesday, July 13) for a chance to win a fantastic hamper crammed full of top-quality Lincolnshire produce.

The Standard has teamed up with Lincolnshire Co-operative to offer our readers the prize in honour of the group’s 150th anniversary.

The local Co-op movement recently joined forces Wainfleet brewery Bateman’s to produce a special brew to mark the landmark anniversary.

The Big Birthday Beer is set to hit shelves across the county in honour of the Co-op’s continued success.

And to mark the occasion they have offered a fantastic hamper - chock full of local produce from across Lincolnshire, as well as a few bottles of the birthday brew itself.

Lincolnshire Co-op’s supply chain manager Nicola Berry said: “Bateman’s Brewery has a long history of supplying fine ales to our foodstores and this is a great example of us working together with a local supplier on an exclusive product.

“We hope that lots of our customers take the chance to join in with our 150th birthday celebrations by raising a glass of the Big Birthday Beer.”

Bateman’s director, Stuart Bateman us delighted to have teamed up with the local Co-operative to mark the special occasion.

“It’s a full-flavoured golden ale, freshly hopped, with a biscuity taste.

“We’re really happy with it and we think Lincolnshire Co-operative customers will be as well.

“We’re extremely proud to have been asked to brew this beer.

“We’re delighted to support the members, customers and staff who make the Society the success that it is.

May it continue for another 150 years,” he added.

The hamper will contains a selection of products from Lincolnshire Co-op’s Local Choice range.

These include four bottles of the Big Birthday Beer, plus chutney made by Pattesons of Grimsby, jam made by Jenny’s Jam from Lincoln, coffee from Lincoln and York, Pipers Crisps made in Elsham, cakes from the Society bakers Gadsby’s and some vouchers to spend on chilled local choice products like Dennetts Ice cream, Cote Hill Cheese or Lincolnshire Poacher Cheese.
