People on social media have expressed their disgust after it appeared people may have taken ‘trophies’ from the dead whales washed up on the Skegness coastline.

This comes after a member of the public visiting the whales posted a picture online of someone appearing to be taking a tooth out of one of the mammals.

People on social media called the act ‘sick’.

The three dead whales were discovered on Sunday, and a fourth was washed up today (Monday).

The Standard has purposefully blurred the face on this story as we do not yet know if the individual has committed an illegal act. We will share it with appropriate authorities so they can take any action they see fit.

People have been warned to stay away from the animals which have been roped off.
