Generous newly-weds have donated £500 to the Skegness Lifeboat Station.
When Ken and Elaine Prince tied the knot earlier this year they decided they didn’t want presents, instead they asked guests to make a charitable donation.
“We got married later on in life and both of us are approaching 60,” explained Ken. “We’ve been together for a few years and we’ve got everything we need. So we asked guests to make a donation to charity.”
He added: “The one closest to our hearts is the lifeboat station. We live in Skegness, having retired here about six years ago. We haven’t needed it and hope we never do but it is a very worthwhile cause.”
The gesture raised more than £400, with Ken and Elaine topping the total up to £500.
