The Wainfleet & District Hotricultural Society has announced changes to the organisation of this year’s best front garden and baskets and tubs competition.

The Wainfleet & District Hotricultural Society has announced changes to the organisation of this year’s best front garden and baskets and tubs competition.

Entry to the competition, which is in its tenth year, will be organised slightly differently in the society’s 50th anniversary year.

Unlike previous years, no application forms are necessary, and membership of the society is not required.

“The society’s scouts will be out and about in July and early August looking for front gardens, baskets and tubs which look particularly attractive,” said a spokesperson.

“One garden will be awarded the trophy for the best in Wainfleet.

“In addition the Society will be awarding 50 special certificates of merit for keeping front gardens attractive.

“The trophy will be presented at the 50th Annual Show on September 14 in the Magdalen School,” they added.

Any enquiries about the society, its show or the gardens scheme can be made to any committee member.
