A community-minded Alford man has been congratulated after becoming the 30th person to complete a volunteer training scheme in a month.

Leonard Reeder received a certificate and gift voucher on completion of the Lincolnshire Volunteer Card programme.

Len has been volunteering for more than 20 years, supporting his local community in a wide variety of roles.

This includes being a befriender for Lincoln and Lindsey Blind Society as well as work within the community as a Dementia Friend.

Of his reasons for taking part in the training, Len said: “When approaching other charities I wanted them to see I’m serious about helping others.”

All Lincolnshire residents aged 16 and over can access the free Lincolnshire Volunteer Card training.

It provides basic skills and knowledge for a wide variety of volunteering roles.

Registration is simple. Just call Children’s Links on 0845 373 0645 or email lvc@
childrenslinks.org.uk with your name, current volunteering role (if applicable) and details of where you would like to access training.
