FETE - Willoughby summer fete will take place this weekend (July 13 and 14).
The wild cowboys will ride into town for the themed afternoon today (Saturday) and take up residence in their newly constructed town in the corner of the village green.
There will be an eclectic mix of entertainment - from belly dancers to Outlaws, a martial arts demo to face painting, Zorb Balling to traditional skittles and all good family fun activities and entertainment.
You can enjoy strawberries and cream on the Green whilst eagerly awaiting the flypast of a World War Two Dakota and Spitfire, and listen to live music from a group of talented guitarists.
A dog show will also take place with 15 different classes.
Other events include Kung Fu and Search and Rescue dog demonstrations, bouncy castle, kiddies’ rides, face painting, Zorb Balls, a penalty shoot out game and many stalls, including charity stalls, competitions and the chance to try Willoughby specially brewed ales.
The Willoughby Fete promises to be a fun-filled weekend for all the family.
The Willoughby Village Fete committee are looking for something really strange to be the centrepiece of the green.
Perhaps a 6’ tall pink Flamingo, a Dalek, or maybe a monkey dressed as an astronaut. Does anyone have such a thing? If so contact the committee on email@example.com
There is a Spitfire fly past at 11.50am, Dakota fly past at 12.50pm and the cowboy shoot-out at 11am, 2pm and 3.30pm.
The organiser is Alan Vassar and he can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com or via phone on 01507 463065.
