COFFEE AND CAKES - A coffee morning and cake stall will be held on Saturday, June 8, from 10.30am to 11.30am, at Toynton All Saints Methodist Chapel.

FRIENDSHIP CLUB - On Tuesday June 11, there will be a meeting of Toynton Friendship Club from 2pm to 4pm at the Village Hall.

Entertainment for the afternoon will be a quiz.

VILLAGE HALL AGM -The Toynton Village Hall committee Annual General Meeting was held recently.

Nine committee members and one member of the public were present.

The committee does not currently have a chairperson but Mrs Mandy Armstrong agreed to be acting chairperson for the meeting.

A letter of resignation, with immediate effect had been received from the secretary, Mrs Jane Taplin. She did not attend the meeting as she was unwell.

Mrs Michelle Elden agreed to be acting secretary for the meeting and said she knew of someone who may take on the role.

Mrs Mary Machin remains as treasurer and booking secretary.

Apologies for absence were received from Mrs Caroline Dickson.

Mrs Armstrong read last year’s minutes to the meeting.

In matters arising, new representatives for the committee were announced; Mrs Michelle Eldin, on behalf of Toynton School; Mrs Sue Chambers, as a parishioner of Toynton St Peter and Mrs Gerry Chappell on behalf of the ‘Fitness League’.

All other representatives were re-elected.

The treasurer reported income from April 2012 to march 2013 was £3,148.17, which included £2,648 from lettings and a £350 grant from ELDC councillor, Mr Jim Swanson, towards the interior redecoration of the hall.

Expenditure was £5,884,64, which included the cost of £2,688 for interior decorating of the hall.

Finances, as at April 1, 2013 are: current Account: £634.55 and deposit account: £2,534.32, giving a total of £3,168.87.

EVENING PRAYER - On Sunday, June 9, there will be a service of evening prayer at 3pm at Toynton St Peter Church.

SUPPER SUCCESS - The recent chine supper raised a total of £400 for Toynton All Saints Church funds. Many thanks to all who worked so hard to make it such a success.
