CHILDREN’S DAY - Ten children under the age of seven met with their parents in the Parish Rooms for songs, stories and craft on Saturday, December 10.
It was a busy enjoyable afternoon. The angels decorated the Christmas tree in the church afterwards.
They were much admired by the congregation on Sunday, December 11 at the carol service. Mulled wine and mince pies were served afterwards by members of the church.
WI - The December meeting was held in the Parish Rooms on December 12.
The president welcomed Colin Gray who gave an evening’s entertainment on a seasonal theme.
The winter songs from various times and countries were greatly appreciated as were the monologues concerning Albert’s life.
Gill Holmes as hostess with Stella Plant gave the vote of thanks.
The competition winners were Brenda Rawlings and Greta Cooke. Raffle winner was Gill Clark.
Home-made mince pies were served with hot drinks.
Members were reminded that there is no meeting in the Parish Rooms in January.
However, the Annual Dinner will take place at the Red Lion in Partney on January 27 at 7pm for 7.30pm.
FOOD AND HYGIENE COURSE - It is proposed to hold a one-day course in the Parish Rooms in the New Year leading to a Food and Hygiene certificate.
Several members of the WI, church, and social group have expressed an interest in taking part.
Anyone else interested should ring 753334.
There will be a charge for the course depending on numbers.
