AGM - The Twinning AGM was held last Tuesday in the Parish Council room at which the following were re-elected - Chairman, Neil Cooper; Vice Chairman, John Clarke; Treasurer, Margaret Clark; and Secretary, Phyllis Podbury.

It has been confirmed that a party from Beaumont-sur-Sarthe will be arriving in Burgh on Thursday, May 29.

During the weekend visit there will be a dinner, a visit to a place of interest and free time with the host families.

The next meeting is on Saturday, February 8 at 9.30am in the Council Room.

LINE - The popular yet informal line dance group lines up for footwork, friendship and fun at Burgh Baptist Church on Wednesdays at 2pm.

NURSING - Parish Nursing Drop In at Burgh Baptist church is held on Fridays from 10am to 11.45am.

People of all ages are welcome to pop in for a check up, support or prayer with Nurse Mandy and the team (no appointment necessary) or just enjoy a chat over coffee and scones.

PHOENIX - The Phoenix Group offers support and friendship for those facing loneliness from various circumstances. Prayer is offered if desired.

The group also enjoys outings to different venues and guest speakers from time to time.

Meetings are held on Wednesdays from 10.30am to noon at Burgh Baptist Church. For more information contact Margaret on 01754 810081.

PRAM - The Pram and Toddlers Group meets every Wednesday in the Village Hall from 10am until noon.

On the first Wednesday of the month they meet in the Parish church of St Peter and Paul at 2pm.

All babies, toddlers and mums are welcome.

WI - The speaker for the January meeting of Burgh W I was Nicky Chantry from ‘The Body Shop’, who spoke about their high standard of products that have not been tested on animals.

She explained that members could hold pamper evenings and parties.

The ingredients for their make up are all sourced from Fair Trade.

During the evening members were reminded about the Lincolnshire Show and that next month’s meeting is the 90th birthday, which is by invitation only.

Three bursaries of £25 will be given next month to enable members to use it for training and other classes.

Winners of the Pretty Napkin competition were G. Astley. M. Piarska and A. Chatterton.

Bloom of the month winners were A. Chatterton and M. Pisarska.

YOUTH - Burgh Baptist Church’s youth meetings are held several times a week.

Impact chills out on Mondays at 6.30pm for Year six and up.

Kings Club meets on Tuesdays for Reception to Year Five and Little Treasures Parents and Toddlers gather on Thursdays at 1.30pm.

Newcomers are always warmly welcomed to any of these groups.
