AGM - The AGM of the Heritage committee will take place next Wednesday, October 24 at 7pm in the tea room at the windmill. Those wishing to be involved are invited to attend.

ALLOTMENTS - The Town Council are still inviting written expressions of interest in working (or providing land for use as) allotments.

BADGES - Burgh Town Council is reminding parents they can still arrange for collection of the free commemorative diamond jubilee badges for any children under 11 years and permanently resident in Burgh.

Collection is from the council chamber from Mondays to Wednesdays between 11am and 1pm and parents should bring proof of address for checking against the Electoral Register.

Silver versions of the commemorative badge are available for general sale at £2.50 each.

CIVIC - Mrs Gladys Waite, a 100-year-old Burgh resident, is to receive a special civic award for her contribution to the life and culture of the town, from Burgh le Marsh town council at Burgh Luncheon Club on Friday, October 19 at the Village Hall in Jackson’s Lane.

All are welcome to enjoy a hot lunch from 12.15pm at a cost of £3.50 or to attend the presentation, which will immediately follow the meal at approximately 1.30pm.

CHOIR - A reminder that tickets are available from Coun Jim Dodsworth or from Father Terry for the Louth Male Voice Choir concert in the Parish Church on Friday, October 19 at 7.30pm.

DEBT - Burgh Community Debt Advice Centre has broadened the spectrum of assistance it can provide to clients who are experiencing financial difficulties.

The centre is now able to offer free advice, ranging from simple budgeting to help with more complex cases of insolvency, which include debt relief orders, individual voluntary arrangements, administration orders and bankruptcy.

HISTORY - Blackpool trams will be the subject at the history group meeting on Monday, October 22 at 7.30pm in the windmill tea room. Admission is £1.

LINE - All are welcome to join in the footwork, friendship and fun on offer during the regular line dancing sessions on Wednesdays at 2pm in Burgh Baptist Church. The group is very informal and encourages people of all abilities to step on up and give it a try. For more details contact Margaret on 01754 810081.

LUNCH - The harvest lunch, organised by Burgh Parish Church Social Committee, was well supported. Thanks are expressed to all for their help and support.

MEET - The next and final ‘Meet and Eat’ will be held at Burgh Baptist Church on Saturday, October 20 at 12.30 pm. As always, there will be opportunity for fellowship and to make new friends while enjoying a starter and roast dinner followed by scrummy homemade desserts at a cost of £4. Proceeds will go to charity.

PRECEPT - Burgh le Marsh town council will present 2012/13 Precept budgets and potential changes to council tax levels for 2013/14 at a meeting to be held on Wednesday, October 24 at 7pm at Burgh Baptist Church, the Causeway.

The council is encouraging residents and businesses to learn more and have their say on how their council tax is spent within the town. Further details are available from the town clerk on 01754 811218.

SACRED - On the third Thursday of each month Burgh Baptist Church offers nurses (and others) a chance to take time out from the unique pressures of the job and rest in the presence of the Lord, reflect on their Christian faith or seek prayer if desired. SAUSAGE - A sausage and mash and quiz evening, organised by Burgh WI will take place in the WI Hall this Saturday, October 20 at 7.15pm for 7.30pm. The cost is £5 per person. Teams of four for the quiz. To book a table phone 01754 811488.
