TODDLE WADDLE - Youngsters from the Sunshine Children’s Centre in Burgh Le Marsh will put their best foot forward today (Wednesday) as part of the Meningitis Trust’s annual Toddle Waddle event.
Meningitis kills more under fives than any other infectious disease in the UK.
The Sunshine Children’s Centre youngsters will be stepping out on a sponsored walk from the Sunshine Children’s Centre to Sycamore Lakes to show how their small steps can go a long way to raising vital funds to support the Trust’s work. Whilst at Sycamore Lakes the children will enjoy a well deserved refreshment stop.
Amy Abbott, events co-ordinator said: “Meningitis is the disease feared by most parents.
“The money raised will be making a real difference to the lives of other toddlers and their families who are struggling with the impact of meningitis.”
“The children are really excited and have been taking part in a colouring competition, producing Monty headdresses and cutting out your Monty feet to wear in the lead up to the big day.”
If Sunshine Children’s Centre raises more than £400 it will be entered into a draw to win a state-of-the-art computer and a special prize from charity mascot, Monty the Duck.
