ANGELS - The Little Angels will meet in the parish church of St Peter and Paul on Wednesday, January 4 at 2pm.

BARN - The Barn Dance Workshop members enjoyed a buffet at their last meeting before Christmas.

The Workshop resumes again on January 13 at 7.30pm in the WI Hall.

CONCERT - The Burgh Choir Academy, directed by Debbie Boulton, presented a Christmas concert recently at Burgh House, the evening, along with a raffle raised seven hundred pounds for Marie Curie.

Thanks are expressed to all for their support.

LIGHTS - The Christmas tree and the lights in Burgh have received praise from locals and visitors.

As well as the lights along the High Street and the tree in the Market Place many businesses and residential properties have been decorated and illuminated adding a real festive touch.

MARKET - Burgh Parish church looked very festive for the Christmas market on the Saturday before Christmas.

All the trees, donated by local businesses and organisations, were lit and all the stalls also looked very festive.

MASS - There will be Sung Mass at the parish church of St Peter and Paul on Sunday, January 1 at 9.30am. Then at 6pm there will be Evensong.

MONDAY - Burgh Monday Club organised two coach trips to the Christmas spectacular show at Thursford. This annual event has now become a two-day event with one coach going on the Friday and the other on the following Monday.

WI - The WI meeting will be a week later than usual and will take place on Wednesday, January 11 in the WI Hall at 7pm.

It is traditional for the Janaury meeting to be arranged by the members rather than the committee, hence it is known as Members’ Night.
