High winds are battering the Lincolnshire coastline as residents in Skegness take shelter this afternoon.

Lincolnshire police are reporting of fallen trees, power lines and dangerous driving conditions

A tree has blown down in Lincoln Road in Skegness and there is also disruption to trains.

As Storm Doris passes by police are advising people not to make journeys if they don’t have too.

Officers are taking reports from across the county of trees across the road, power cables down, flying trampolines and gazebos. High sided vehicles are advised to take extra care.

A police spokesman said: “Please keep watching the weather reports that will provide more information on how the weather will affect Lincolnshire. Take action if you are able to secure your garden furniture and other items. If you see tree’s across the road or other potential dangers, please contact us on 101.”
