Sixty-nine Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT) care homes across the county are hoping to raise the roof for the Red Nose Day Sing A Song Challenge.

The residents will join thousands of others in care settings across the UK in singing ‘Sing’ by the Carpenters.

It has been organised by the National Activity Providers Association (NAPA), the charitable membership organisation representing more than 2,500 activity co-ordinators working in the care sector.

As well as residents and employees, OSJCT has invited relatives and members of the local community, including volunteers and school children, to join in the sing song.

“We’re really looking forward to Red Nose Day and having a good old sing-along to a classic song, which the residents love,” says OSJCT Area Operations Director, Caroline Dungan. “Hopefully, as well as staying in tune, we will also raise some money for Comic Relief through donations.

“NAPA plays a very important role in supporting our employees and providing activities that are respectful, creative, innovative and fun for residents, so we’re delighted to be taking part in their Sing A Song Challenge.”
