A woman has been airlifted to hospital after a serious three-vehicle collision near Spilsby today (Sunday).

The air ambulance took a 65-year-old woman to Hull Royal Infirmary suffering from internal injuries. A man was also taken to Boston Pilgrim hospital with less serious injuries, according to police.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said the crash involved a white VW Polo, an orange VW Transporter and a black Toyota Yaris on the A1028, Blue Stone Heath Road, Welton Le Marsh, near Spilsby, at around 12.20pm today.

The road has been closed while the vehicles were cleared and an oil spillage dealt with and was still closed at 4pm. Local diversions are in place. Highways officers are on the scene and will re-open the road when it is deemed safe to do so, according to police.
