Kevin Michael Flanagan, of Meadow Lane, Peakdale in Buxton, Derbyshire, was walking along Walls Lane at around 2.20am when a grey Fiat Scudo collided with him.

The driver was a 59-year-old local man.

The Derbyshire holidaymaker was taken to Boston’s Pilgrim Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. His family has been informed.

A police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for witnesses to the incident who saw it actually happen or anyone who was in the area and either saw the pedestrian or the grey Fiat Scudo before the collision to contact us on the non-emergency number.”

This is the 10th person to be killed on Lincolnshire’s roads so far this year. Police said that details of the victim were likely to be released later on Monday.

An inquest is expected to be opened in connection with Mr Flanagan’s death this week.
