The train operator serving Skegness and Wainfleet has been awarded a five star rating for its ‘organisational excellence’.

East Midlands Trains received the highest level of excellence certification from the British Quality Foundation, following its ‘extensive’ assessment covering all areas of the company,

Managing director David Horne said: “We’re extremely pleased to have been awarded a five star rating for the first time.

“It’s a clear demonstration of the commitment our employees have made in have made in striving to deliver significantly improved services for our customers.”

The BQF’s assessor team praised the train operator for clearly defining customer requirements and ‘exceeding them as a matter of course’.

Chief executive at BQF Joe Goasdoue said: “With this successful renewal of its R4E certification, East Midlands Trains shows that is performance continues to improve.”

The award follows recent passenger satisfaction successes, in whcih EMT scored its best ever result, with 89 per cent of passengers saying they were satisfied with their service.
