A teenage girl was airlifted to Hull Royal Infirmary’s trauma centre yesterday (Sunday) after a crash at Skegness Stadium.

The 15-year-old girl, who has not been named, is understood to have collided with a tyre wall at during a race.

A spokesperson for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance said: “She had been racing in a vehicle which crashed into a tyre wall at 40mph.

“DLRAA arrived at the incident at 3.39pm. On arrival, the patient had been extricated from the vehicle and was in a private ambulance on arrival.

“She was complaining of headaches as well as neck and back pain.

“She was showing signs of a potential spinal injury and needed transferring to the nearest trauma centre. She was airlifted to Hull Royal Infirmary for further assessment and treatment,” they added.

There has been no word on the teen’s condition.
