The Skegness inshore lifeboat was scrambled this afternoon (Monday) to reports of possible inflatable dinghies in difficulty a mile offshore.
The call came in at 12.38pm.
The inflatables turned out to be a group of small boats with their own on-board engines and were not in danger.
The vessels came ashore at the same time as the lifeboat, which assisted in pulling the three boats back up the beach.
“It was a false alarm with good intent,” said the Skegness RNLI’s Russ Matthews.
