Fatal motorway smash man named

AN Orby man who died when three lorries were involved in a serious road accident on the M1 last week has been named by police.

Ronald Damen died from multiple injuries after the smash in the early hours of Thursday, April 12.

The 62-year-old had been driving a Renault lorry when it was in collision with two other lorries at around 3.26am.

He had been driving southbound along the M1 near junction 13 in Bedfordshire.

The motorway was closed in both directions for a short time following the smash.

An inquest into the crash was opened and adjourned today (Tuesday).
