FORMER chiropodist Sylvia Noakes died recently at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston, aged 88.
Mrs Noakes, who was born in Nottingham and lived in Skegness, leaves son Richard. She was the mother of the late Christopher, and widow to the late Donald Ellis Noakes.
She was a housewife and mother, and qualified as a chiropodist in the late 1960s, and practised until 1978.
She was a member of the Land Army between 1942 and 1944.
She was also a member of the Women’s Institute, and was the oldest member at the Croft branch.
The funeral was held at Boston Crematorium.
Family mourners: son Richard, daughter-in-law Pauline, daughter-in-law Maria, grandson Robin and wife Danielle, and grandson Simon.
Funeral directors were Frank Wood and Sons.
