The green-fingered tenants of The Ship Inn, Chapel St Leonards, have been recognised for their stunning floral displays.

Drew and Maggy George were the proud recipients of the rural flowers award at the Rewarding Success lunch organised by Lincolnshire family brewer Batemans.

Held at the brewery’s visitor centre in Wainfleet, the event was attended by more than 80 tenants. Partners of Batemans Brewery for 22 years, Drew and Maggy have previously received awards for food quality, customer service, cellar management and beer quality, as well as Publican of the Year in 2014.

Maggy said: “We see beautiful flowers as a key part of running an appealing and inviting pub, so are really pleased to have been recognised for our efforts.”
