COVERING 256 miles in just one night is a tall order at the best of times.
Trying to make that journey on one of the shortest nights of the year, travelling by convoy and avoiding major roads is just asking for trouble.
But that’s just what dozens of Bikers for Macmillan will be doing when they set off from Holyhead in Wales bound for Skegness on June 25.
The ‘Sunset to Sundown Tour’ is now in its fourth year raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Research and organisers are hoping that more bikers than ever will take part to help exceed last year’s impressive £1,300 tally.
The Mayor of Skegness Coun Steve Kirk will be up at the crack of dawn to greet the riders as they complete their journey and Brian O’Connor will be once again opening his Broadwalk Cafe especially to provide them with a well earned cup of tea and a bacon butty.
Macmillan is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year and so the founding members of the motorbike tour would like to see 100 riders take part in this year’s event.
Anyone is welcome to sign up for the ride but they need to pay a £10 registration fee.
