Teenagers from across Skegness spent their summer fundraising, refurbishing and volunteering at a variety sites around the town.

Their efforts included working at Skegness Youth Centre, Donna Nook Seal Sanctuary and North Somercotes Chapel.

The teens were taking part in a nationwide voluntary programme called National Citizen Service.

Teenagers in Skegness and across the county will have another opportunity to take part in the national voluntary programme this October half term.

The scheme offers young people the opportunity of a lifetime to make new friends, build skills for the future and make a difference locally.

Starting on Friday October 24, the National Citizen Service (NCS) is still accepting applicants for its Autumn 2014 programme.
