IT’S that time of year again when people are being asked to dust of their running or walking boots to help raise money for charity.

For the first time, people in and around Spilsby can get involved with the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief one, three or six mile walk or run to help raise money.

The event will be held on March 25 at the Spilsby Pavilion Playing Fields from 11am to 2pm and those interested are urged to sign up quick via the official Sport Relief website.

“You can do the one mile around the field with the children or aim higher and do the three or six mile walk/run, it’s up to you,” said Maxine Kent for Spilsby Sport Relief.

And what’s more, there will be fantastic Zumba sessions for everyone to take part in, including a Zumbatomics party for the younger ones, a Zumbagold class for the over 50s and then it will finish with a Zumba fitness class.

“We will have bottles of water for everyone and Sainsbury’s are also offering drinks for after the event. There will also be cakes for everyone to buy after the event, to build up your energy levels again,” added Maxine.

Children can also enjoy having their face painted and there will be a fancy dress competition on the day with games, a disco, football, a tug-of-war, a band and lots more still to be announced.

“There are also opportunities for people to volunteer on the day to help marshal the race routes and if anyone is interested then please get in touch,” said Maxine.

To enter the events, those interested will need to go the Sport Relief official website at www.sportrelief.com and choose their mile and event just by typing in their postcode.

“Please, please, please come along and support this event; we need 300 to sign up for it to go ahead so get your friends, family and work mates to get involved,” added Maxine.
