Spectacular firework displays will be lighting up the Ingoldmells skyline every Saturday throughout August as part of a new initiative to reinvigorate the resort’s visitor appeal.
Traders in the village have teamed up to offer holidaymakers something ‘exciting and unique’ with a full evening of entertainment on the beach once a week throughout the month.
Beach owner Simon Adderley has been encouraged to see the businesses cooperate for the greater good and expects the events to be popular with visitors and residents alike.
“It’s great to see all the businesses and foreshore traders pulling together in the same direction to try and create something to revitalise the coast,” he said.
“This will create something that’s unique and exciting and we have the perfect resort to do it in.”
Alongside the fireworks display, which Mr Adderley says will be ‘comparable with the best’ there will be a whole host of other attractions, including laser shows and live music.
The family orientated events will start in the early evening culminating in a ‘spectacular’ firework displays once darkness falls.
More than a dozen local traders have promised funds for the event, which Mr Adderley hopes will mark the beginning of a more cooperative working partnership.
“The traders in Ingoldmells are starting to recognise that by working together with events such as the fireworks, we can achieve some amazing things,” he said.
