DC Emily Wooll-Rivers, of Skegness CID, is investigating a series of burglaries that have been reported in Skegness in the past week.
Properties have been targetted in Beresford Avenue, Kingsthorpe Avenue, Briar Way, Huckles Way and Finisterre Avenue.
In each case, entry appears to have been gained by forcing a rear door or window whilst the properties were unoccupied.
DC Wooll-Rivers is appealing for residents to be alert to suspicious activity and to review their home security to see if it could be improved.
“Make it more difficult for potential burglaries to access the rear of your house by ensuring you keep any side access gates securely locked. Consider motion-sensor lighting or installing a burglar alarm if your home is unoccupied for longer periods of time”, said DC Wooll-Rivers.
Police advise crime prevention advice can be obtained from your local Crime Reduction Officer or Neighbourhood Policing Team.
Anyone with information about the burglaries should contact Lincolnshire Police by dialling 101 and quoting the incident number.
You can report crimes anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
