A Skegness man has embarked on an incredible weight loss mission to raise money for two important charities and commemorate his best friend.
Adam Driver of Skegness has already lost a staggering eight stone and has just one-and-a-half to loose before he can take part in a skydive to raise money.
Not only this but in the process, Adam has been named the Man Of The Year for his Slimming World Club.
“I have been on a weight loss mission for the past 18 months and have just one-and-a-half to lose so I’m able to do the skydive,” said Adam.
“I wanted to do something like this to remember my best friend Matthew who died after a motorcycle accident, and also raise money for charity in the process,” he added.
Adam will be raising money for the Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire Air Ambulance, and a baby heart unit at a local hospital, as his five-year-old nephew Byron Webster was born with heart condition and has been in and out for surgery many times in his young life.
To further boost Adam’s confidence, he was named the Man of the Year last Thursday at a Slimming World meet with consultant Maxeen Andrew. Maxeen said: “I know he has not lost the amount he would like just yet, but I am certain that it will not be long before he reaches his goal and will then be able to achieve his dream of completing a sky dive, something which is very close to his heart.”
