At the recent Skegness U3A meeting Misty Culpin gave a fascinating insight into her work as a police woman for 30 years.

For a time Misty was a dog handler. She then became a Sergeant and then a training officer.

She served in Northern Ireland during the troubles in the 1970s and was also involved in other aspects of policing and at one time found herself as an extra in an episode of London’s Burning.

“Her talk was peppered with amusing anecdotes and it was clear that she had enjoyed every minute of her work and certainly members enjoyed every minute of her talk,” said a U3A spokesperson.

At the meeting on Wednesday, September 21 the subject will be ‘Hot Air Ballooning’.

Meetings are held at the Storehouse on North Parade on the third Wednesday of each month at 9.30am.
