Skegness Town Council’s council tax charge is set to rise by 11.18 per cent in 2015-16. Councillors voted for the hike at a meeting on Wednesday.

It represents an annual increase of £4.85 for an average Band D property, taking the total charge to £48.20.UKIP parliamentary candidate for Skegness Coun Robin Hunter-Clarke called the increase ‘excessive’. But Coun Maggie Gray said it was necessary to ‘balance the books’.
