Both Skegness RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) lifeboats were called out late on Saturday night.

The launch followed reports that a missing person had entered the water at Ingoldmells.

The town’s inshore lifeboat (relief* D class lifeboat Norma and Bill Burleigh) was requested to launch at 11:40pm on Saturday night when an adult male, believed to be under the influence of alcohol, was seen entering the water at Ingoldmells Point.

All-weather lifeboat Lincolnshire Poacher was also requested shortly afterwards, and launched just after midnight.

The two lifeboats searched along the shoreline between Ingoldmells Point and Chapel St Leonards for nearly an hour before being stood down by Humber Coastguard when the man was found safe ashore in a nearby campsite by Lincolnshire Police.
