Skegness Fire Station to host open day

Skegness Fire Station will be opening its doors for its annual open day on Thursday, August 14.

The event will start from 10am-4pm and firefighters will be showcasing the important work they do within the county.

Alongside this, there will be a number of activities to see and do for visitors.

The event will see a fly past by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight a fancy dress competition with a Heroes and Villains theme, the Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Concert band, fairground games, penalty shootouts, Road Traffic Collision displays, vintage fire vehicles a treasure hunt as well as face painting and a bouncy castle.

Firefighters will aso hold a number of demonstrations from Fire Dog’s and the Technical Rescue Team, as well as the chance to meet Fireman Sam who will be stopping by.

Deputy Commander Jason Lawley said: “Our annual event has become very popular with the community and visitors to the area. We hope that everyone has a fun and interesting day and gets the opportunity to see the work we do and the appliances and equipment we use close up.”

There will also be competitions and a number of prizes, with proceeds going towards the Firefighters Charity.
