Skegness fire crew attends A52 car fire and false alarms on busy night

Skegness Fire & Rescue crews were called out to a car fire and two false alarms overnight last night (Saturday/Sunday).

They were scrambled to a car fire on the A52 shortly before 9.20pm on Saturday.

The blaze, which was caused by an electrical fault within the engine, was extinguished using two hose reel jets and two breathing apparatus.

Then at 0.20am today (Sunday), they were called out to a report of fire alarms sounding on Scarborough Avenue, Skegness. They were then redirected to alarms on Sea Lane in Ingoldmells at 0.50am.

“Both alarms were caused by unknown faults on the alarm systems. Inspection only by fire crews,” said a spokesperson.
