A BODY-BUILDER from Skegness has been awarded the title of Mr Lincolnshire for his muscular physique and strict training routine.
Glyn Wikes, 44, was awarded the title at the Lawn in Lincoln on Saturday, July 30, after judges commended his defined muscular outlines, symmetrical appearance and low levels of body fat,
Glyn said: “I won the over 40s category but then I won the overall show as well - I cleared up!”
More than 20 competitors stripped down to their trunks and displayed their toned bodies to a panel of judges and hundreds of spectators,
The competition has grown in popularity since it started three years ago, but this was the first time Glyn had entered.
He has been training relentlessly at the New Era Gym, Skegness, with a combination of endurance work-outs and weight training.
Gym owner Richard Crow said: “He has always been quite a keen body builder but through encouragement and advice we’ve been helping him with his diet and training routine to get him in perfect condition for the day of the competition.”
