The Skegness Academy has donated £1,000 to Macmillan Cancer Support.

The funds were raised by staff and pupils who participated in the sponsored Santa Fun Run organised by the local Rotary Club.

A spokesman for the school said: The money was raised to serve the needs of others and extend a helping hand to the community of Skegness.”

Mrs Silvester, Principal, said: “At the Skegness Academy, we are keen to ensure that our pupils are aware of the role that they play in society.”

“Supporting local charities in this way means that pupils can take part in fun events and activities whilst raising much needed funds which benefit local people,” she added.
