More than £2,000 has been raised for good causes in and around Skegness in the last three months through Lincolnshire Co-op’s Community Champions scheme.

The initiative sees every one of the society’s 250,000 members linked to a worthy project in their area.

Every time they use their dividend card in any Lincolnshire Co-op outlet where dividend is issued, a donation from the Community Champions pot goes towards their local good cause.

After three months, the beneficiaries change.

The causes receiving support in the Skegness area for the period between September and December, with their allocated sums in brackets, were: Alford Help Fund and Alford Corn Exchange (£528.85), Chapel St Leonards Village Hall (£648.79), Revesby Cricket Club (£522.46), Skegness Day Centre (£320.33), St Peter & St Paul’s CofE Primary PFTA, Burgh le Marsh (£350.70).
