ORBY is set to hold its Scarecrow Weekend this Saturday and Sunday, August 18 and 19.
The weekend will feature everthing from the eponymous scarecrows to kids’ games, barbecues, a chocolate tombola and even a ‘Sheep-Poo Challenge”.
“Start planning your special scarecrow now,” said a spokesperson. “It’s free entry!”
On Saturday participants in the scarecrow competition should have their entry on display in their garden for judging from noon.
There will also be a barbecue, kids’ games, chocolate tombola and refreshments at the Village Hall from noon.
And on Sunday, August 19 from 11am there will be a ‘Sheep-Poo Challenge’ with Arthur the Sheep, games, stocks, Find-the-Wine, tombola and refreshments.
Everyone is encouraged to bring their scarecrow to the hall for a mass gathering of scarecrows in time for the presentation for ‘The Best Scarecrow’ at 3pm and a great photo opportunity!
“Orby Church will also be having a Flower Festival, which shouldn’t be missed, so pop along there too,” added the spokesperson.
