A CHARITABLE club has ended its year by raising thousands for a number of important causes in Skegness.
The Rotary Club of Skegness community and vocational committee has ended its year by donating £3,700 to the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.
“This money was raised by £1,500 from the Wishing Wells, Central Bracing, Skegness and Fantasy Island, Ingoldmells,” said a spokesperson.
“Sponsorship of £1,700 from the students of Skegness Academy was also given after they ran in the Santa Fun Run and £500 from Rotarian Keith Butters who cycled the Trans-Pennine in May, a total of £235 miles.”
The committee was also able to donate £1,500 to St Barnabas “Hospice at Home” after it raised more than expected through the generosity of local people. “Thank you to everyone,” they added.
