Local musicians are rocking up to raise cash for good causes at a charity concert in Skegness.

The Band Central Charity Night is taking place at Grand Central tonight (Friday) from 7pm. Conner Jackson has planned the event to raise cash for the Ryan Smith Foundation, BBC Children in Need and Compassionate Friends.

A student at Skegness Grammar School Conner, 17, was inspired to organise the concert after serving on the school’s charity committee last year.

Bass guitarist Conner will be playing with his band Nytewalkers alongside Get Up & Dance, Vigilantes, The James Vezer Trio plus special guests.

Conner attended school with Ryan Smith, who was seriously injured after a collision with a van in July last year and George Chambers whose family fundraise for the Compassionate Friends charity in memory of George’s brother Matthew who died in a car accident.
