Rescuers came to the aid of defenceless deer that had become trapped in a fence along Roman Bank, Ingoldmells on Saturday.
The animal is believed to have been entangled since the early hours of yesterday morning and had been trying to fight its way free.
Crews from Lincolnshire Police and fire services attended the scene near to Butlins after a member of the public reported the animal in distress.
Despite efforts to save the wild animal, while struggling to fight itself free, it had sustained more injuries while the sharp metal fence held a firm grip around its body.
The deer was cut free but it is thought to have died as a result of its injuries.
